July 29, 2012Fishman started flying an electric-powered ultralight in 2007, and since then has created a number of different designs under his company name, ElectraFlyer. He's won several grants and awards for his innovations from EAA and the Lindbergh Foundation. July 28, 2012Randall Fishman, who's been bringing various electric aircraft to EAA AirVenture for the last five years or so, turned up this week with his latest creation, a one-seat, battery-powered motorglider ultralight. The aircraft flew for the first time just last week, Fishman told AVweb on Friday. "It took off in about 150 feet, and it handles really well," he said. The sleek little aircraft is for sale with a choice of battery packs good for up to one or two hours of flight. The battery also can be recharged by the folded prop while the airplane is soaring. Fishman said the motorgliders, which are built in the Czech Republic, are available for sale at a starting price of $59,000.. View the full article on the avweb.com website. We are located in the Learnng Center just west of the Homebuilt area and east of the Honda Forums area. We expect the new 2-place plane to be flying the end of August. May 3, 2009 - ElectraFlyer-C flys at the 2009 Sun-N-Fun celebrationThe organizers of the Sun n' Fun Airshow John and Kristin Burton and the air boss Bill McKee and his crew were wonderful. We flew Friday at 1:30 and 7:30PM and Saturday and Sunday at 1:30. They made us a special feature and we flew just before the main airshow each day in a 15 minute time slot. The FAA guys were agreeable and friendly. Joe Bennis flew the plane back to the South Lakeland airport after the Sunday performance, landed on the grass and rolled right up to our hangar. We had a great time! April 17, 2009 - See it at Sun n' Fun Airshow 2009.Visit our booth at the Sun n' Fun Airshow April 21-26. We were invited to display and demonstrate the airplane during the show. We’ll be flying for sure on Wednesday (Earth Day) afternoon before the big airshow (about 2:45PM). We hope to fly everyday at the show after Wednesday with managements approval. We are located near the main entrance in the "green" area slightly North East of the ticket building. Hope to see you there!
